«Spero di terminare ai primi di agosto le riprese di un cortometraggio intitolato Der Bräutigam, die Komödiantin und der Zuhälter che consiste in:
1) un carrello piuttosto lungo su un marciapiede della periferia di Monaco, dove ogni notte le ragazze aspettano di farsi abbordare dagli automobilisti;
2) uno spettacolo teatrale di dieci minuti, a sette personaggi e in tre atti filmati con una sola inquadratura fissa: Krankheit der Jugend (Malattia della gioventù) di Ferdinand Bruckner, da me così condensato e messo in scena (l'inverno scorso) per un piccolo teatro di Monaco, chiuso in seguito dalla polizia per aver montato degli spettacoli contro Axel Caesar Springer e i Notstandigesetze (leggi eccezionali, da poco votate);
3) un breve inseguimento in e fuori città: il fidanzato (un attore nero che solo adesso compare nel film), lascia l'appartamento dell'attrice (che abbiamo visto prima recitare il ruolo principale in teatro), sale in auto e parte; un'auto lo segue, e, trovandosi poco dopo in un vicolo cieco sulla riva dell'Isar, lascia l'auto e salta in acqua, nella speranza di sfuggire al suo inseguitore scalando la scarpata boscosa e rocciosa dell'altra riva; ma è solo una volta in cima a questa scarpata che riesce a sbarazzarsi del suo inseguitore (che si rivela essere un attore secondario del lavoro teatrale), precipitandolo nel vuoto;
4) una benedizione nuziale (in una chiesa di Monaco): del fidanzato e dell'attrice, da parte di un gesuita;
5) un epilogo (attorno e in una piccola casa situata fuori città e di cui il fidanzato ha le chiavi) dove vediamo:
a) il fidanzato e l'attrice dialogare allegramente servendosi di quattro strofe di due poesie di Juan da la Cruz (tradotte da me parola per parola in tedesco); b) il ruffiano comparire e farsi uccidere (col suo stesso revolver) dall'attrice in presenza del fidanzato; c) l'attrice concludere il film con sei strofe di una terza poesia di Juan de la Cruz.»

"On the first of August, I hope to finish shooting a short film entitled Der Bräutigam, die Komödiantin und der Zuhälter that consists of:
1) a rather long tracking shot of a sidewalk in the outskirts of Monaco, where each night girls wait to be picked up by drivers;
2) a 10-minute play, with seven characters and three acts, filmed with only one fixed frame: Ferdinand Bruckner's Krankheit der Jugend, that I condensed and directed (last winter) for a small theater in Monaco, afterwards closed down by the police for its performances against Axel Cäsar Springer and the Notstandsgesetz (emergency laws);
3) a brief chase, in and outside the city: the bridegroom (a black actor who only now appears in the film), leaves the apartment of the actress (who we have seen earlier performing the lead role in the play), gets into his car and leaves; another car follows him, and, soon afterwards finding himself in a dead end along the banks of the river Isar, he gets out of the car and jumps into the river, hoping to escape his pursuer, scaling the woodland slope on the other bank; but it is only when he gets to the top of this slope that he manages to lose his pursuer (who turns out to be a minor actor of the play), plunging into the void;
4) a nuptial benediction (in a church in Monaco) of the bridegroom and the actress, given by a Jesuit priest;
5) an epilogue (around and inside a small house outside the city, for which the bridegroom has the key) where we see:
a) the bridegroom and the actress have a cheerful conversation, helping themselves to four stanzas from two poems of Juan de la Cruz (translated by me, word for word, into German), b) the pimp appears and is killed (with his own gun) by the actress, in the presence of the bridegroom, c) the actress concludes the film with six stanzas from a third poem of Juan de la Cruz."
